Why I chose this program/Grand Rapids for my training
I chose to pursue my residency training in Grand Rapids because I love the city and was extremely impressed by the people I met during my interview here. I was born and raised a Michigan "west-sider", and have missed living here ever since I completed my undergraduate degree at Grand Valley in 2009. The high-quality Med-Peds residency program offered me the perfect opportunity to move back and introduce my husband to all that this area has to offer. In addition to the stellar location, I was drawn to this program by my interactions with the current residents, program director, and program coordinator...they all made me feel extremely welcome and exemplified the reciprocal respect present between residents and leadership.
Hobbies/what I do outside of work
I love to spend time with my husband, Garrett, and our chocolate lab, Mulligan. We are currently busy working on a number of home improvement projects for our first house. I also enjoy reading, relaxing near any body of water, and winning at game nights with family & friends.
